What is Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine?

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine are healing modalities with a history of over 5,000 years. Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs have been used in Long Island New York for the past 40 years and can treat a variety of chronic and acute ailments. Acupuncture involves using fine, disposable needles into energetic points on the body which stimulate a healing energy flow in the body to assist in the healing process. Chinese Medicine believes that energy flow (Qi/Chi) gives us the capacity to think, feel, work and most importantly heal.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed the use of Acupuncture for the treatment of over 100 conditions and has reported, “Acupuncture has proven to be effective in the treatment of pain, stress, headaches, chronic fatigue, anxiety, dysmennorhea, fibromyalgia, allergic sinusitis / rhinitis, depression, insomnia, asthma, chronic cough, gallstones, Bell’s Palsy, women’s and men’s healthcare, weight gain, weight loss, digestive disorders, kidney disorders, stroke recovery, decreased immunity and countless other ailments”.

How Safe Is Acupuncture and Does It Hurt?

Acupuncture is extremely safe. We use only brand new, sterile, individually wrapped disposable needles with every patient. We also clean any area to be needled with disposable alcohol pads before any needling takes place. Most of the time Acupuncture does not cause any pain, there is a normal feeling of distention or tightness around the needle.
